This web page is dedicated to my astronomy photography. You will see milkyway photography and solar eclipse photographs along with some Messier objects.
Rather than using a telescope I use a Nikon 200mm F/2 telephoto lens to capture my images. I am able to obtain a 12 degree view of the sky with an extremely fast lens. That means it is very sensitive to light and picks up the night sky like a vacuum cleaner. Below you will see a photo of my set up. The astro camera is a Nikon D810a. The subscript "a" means that the chip is biased towards the red end of the spectrum and is more sensitive to light at that end of the spectrum. A conventional camera is biased towards the middle of the light spectrum for general photography. Thus a regular camera would not be as sensitive to the night sky.
